Constructech announces recipients of 2nd annual Vision Awards

Carol Stream, IL, November 16, 2001 - Constructech magazine announced the winners of its 2nd annual Vision Awards at a ceremony held in Philadelphia, Pa., on November 14 at the Hard Rock Cafe.

"Constructech serves as a resource to help general contractors, builders, subcontractors, and owners understand how leading-edge technology solutions can improve the building processes and at the same time impact ROI," says Peggy Smedley, Constructech's editorial director and publisher. "This year's Vision Award winners are a testament to the power of that vision and are shining examples for the rest of construction and facility management industries to consider these solutions for their own businesses. For that reason, we are excited to recognize these industry leaders who have been able to achieve their visions through the use of technology."

The competition was open to companies involved in the following areas: residential construction, commercial and heavy construction, subcontracting in all trades, architectural and engineering, land development, and property/facility management. Entrants were asked to address how their companies used technology in an innovative way to solve a problem, to improve their competitiveness, or to create a better working environment for their employees. Each entry was evaluated on its individual merits and on the success of the solution in meeting the challenge or solving the problem, the innovation exhibited by the application of the technology, and the resulting benefits of implementation.

Constructech enrolled an independent panel of distinguished construction, architectural, and technology industry research experts to choose the Vision Award winners. The judges included: Kristine Fallon, Kristine Fallon Associates; John Gould, Irwin, Pancake Architects; Brad Holtz, Cyon Research; Joel Orr, Orr Associates International; John LoPresti, JCP Consulting; Stephen Hagen, General Services Administration; and Richard Malm, Malm Associates.
