Constructech Announces Recipients of 4th Annual Vision Awards

Carol Stream, Ill., October 17, 2003 - Constructech magazine, identifier of automation and technology solutions, yesterday announced the winners of its 4th annual Vision Awards at a ceremony held in Chicago, Ill. at Mike Ditka's Restaurant.

The Constructech Vision Awards honor companies that have realized the advantages of applying modern technologies to their everyday businesses. Any company involved in residential construction, commercial and heavy construction, subcontractors, architectural and engineering firms, corporate owners, facility management companies, government agencies, and land developers could nominate themselves for this award.

"The winners of this year's awards are a testament to the talent it takes to be successful in the Construction industry. These leading-edge companies have made significant investments in the latest technology tools available and the benefits they have received are visible," says Peggy Smedley, editorial director and publisher. Entrants were asked to describe what problems were faced and how they used technology in an innovative way to solve this problem and what benefits were received by choosing this technology solution. Constructech's independent panel of judges evaluated the entries on their individual merits and the success of the solution made in meeting their goals or problem solving.

Constructech's independent panel of distinguished industry experts who judged this year's award entries included: Danny Parrish, Parrish Consulting; Kristine Fallon, Kristine Fallon Assoc.; Brad Holtz and Joel Orr of Cyon Research; Richard Malm, Malm Assoc.; and Gretchen McComb of FMI.

This year the Team Award, which recognizes the best project team with the most innovative use of technology on a single project goes to PCL Constructors Inc., Edmonton, Alta. The technology enablers used by it are Deltek Systems, Herndon, Va. and Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash.
