Residential Winners Named in
Constructech’s 2008 Hottest Companies

Carol Stream, Ill. – July 30, 2008 – Today, Constructech magazine revealed the winners of the 2008 Hottest Companies awards in the residential market. These awards recognize technology, building automation, and automated home technology vendors.

Participating companies are judged by the Constructech editorial staff based on a range of criteria, including the description of the company’s product and/or service, significant accomplishments in the past year, the growth record for the past three years, noteworthy customer wins, and new products impacting the marketplace.

Builders continue to use technology in order to improve their business practices. In Constructech’s 2008 National Technology Survey, 62% of those surveyed said their firms are either aggressive or very aggressive when it comes to implementing technology. One trend in 2008 shows that builders are now leaning more toward frontend solutions for sales and marketing. This year’s Hottest Companies winners reflect this market trend.

"As solution providers strive for success in the residential construction market, they must consistently remain dynamic to best serve their customer base," said Mike Carrozzo, editor of Constructech magazine. "In 2008, Constructech has named seven companies to the annual Hottest Companies listing. These technology vendors stay innovative and profitable in today’s construction space."

Winners of the 2008 Hottest Companies — Residential:

AxisPointe, Lehi, Utah
Builder1440, Baltimore, Md.
BuildTopia, Rockville, Md.
CG Visions, Lafayette, Ind.
Construction Imaging, Rocky Mount, N.C.
HeadsUp Technologies, Overland Park, Kan.
WinEstimator, Kent, Wash.

Constructech also named five Companies to Watch in 2008. The editors believe these companies are on the verge of being named "hot", yet need to demonstrate a bit more.

Companies to Watch:

BuilderMT, Lakewood, Colo.
CDC Software, Atlanta, Ga.
Constellation HomeBuilder Systems, Markham, Ont.
Customer Velocity, The Woodlands, Texas
UDA Technologies, Auburn, Ala.

The final winner of 2008 was named Up & Coming. This award recognizes companies catering to the construction marketplace for less than three years that are developing innovative products, landing significant customer wins, and are on a steady pace of growth.

Up & Coming:

BuilderTREND Solutions, Omaha, Neb.

"The companies selected as winners in the 2008 Hottest Companies awards bring important qualities that meet the demand in today’s construction technology market. As the editorial team considers each Hottest Company entry, we look to find those companies who are providing the solutions that customers are demanding," said Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech. "These companies are providing builders with solutions that will enhance their businesses."
