The companies who have been named Hot in 2008 are technology providers targeting the manufacturing industry that have shown good financial results, important client wins, and significant events and accomplishments during the past year that help set a company apart from the competition.
In addition to being named Hot, companies may also be named as a company to Keep an Eye On or Up & Coming. Keep an Eye On is reserved for companies that have made great strides in recent months and are worth following to see where they will go. Up & Coming companies are new businesses that have been in operation for less than two years, and the editors of START-IT believe them to have all of the ingredients necessary to be named Hot in subsequent years. No companies were named Up & Coming in 2008.
